Bay leaves are one of the most common herbs used in cooking. While not really an herb at all, they are the leaf of the slow growing Laurel, an evergreen tree/shrub., and used as an herb. The flavor itself can be hard to describe, but they definitely add a subtle level of flavor. Many think the flavor profile is similar to thyme and oregano. Leaves are typically used whole and added at the beginning of a slow cooked dish then removed before serving. Fresh leaves can be hard to find unless grown yourself or you are friends with someone who has one.

These bay leaves have been freeze-dried in order to capture the most volatile oils and maintain quality as good as fresh! Shelf stable and convenient...utilize this herb to level-up your cooking, infusing, and more. You'll never want the dehydrated stuff again!

*note: compostable bag packaging is not meant for long term storage. It is an item we are offering that can be home composted as an alternative to plastic packaging. Our compostable bags also feature biodegradable and compostable stickers! We recommend that if you purchase our products in these bags, that you either eat them quickly, or transfer the uneaten portions to an airtight jar you already own. Freeze-dried foods will re-absorb moisture from the open air, so it's best to consider this when storing any product you aren't finishing. Most of the time this isn't an issue because we snack on the entire bag!
